This included rigorous drill contractor selection, monitoring and quality assurance.►Designed and implemented a centralised digital geological database for all the exploration and legacy data of the portfolio companies, thereby improving data integrity and security.Implemented and assured adherence to strict sample collection, transport, assay, recording and reporting procedures, including laboratory selection and quality control and assurance protocols.

At commencement of the role, this operation had a budget of $18 million and 120 employees and 60 contractors spanning 4 projects, including the feasibility study on AK6, a kimberlite which was subsequently sold to Lucara Diamond Corporation and opened as the Karowe mine.Project ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬►Formulated a new strategic direction for exploration in Botswana and compiled the Strategic Plan. This was the first time that such a rigorous plan had been compiled.►Restructured the company in line with this strategic plan and budgetary requirements, resulting in a 75% reduction in exploration spend and a 65% cut in personnel.►Improved government relations through appropriate engagement and corrected historical legal compliance issues that were threatening the security of tenure of exploration permits.►Managed all aspects of the preparation for the presentation at the statutory Board Meetings.

The project implantation required researching and adopting the best methodologies to acquire, process and interpret the data, ensuring at all times that the end product was valid, of use, and financially justified for the shareholder• Achieved tenfold productivity improvements over traditional gravity surveying methods of equal resolution, which facilitated sound exploration decisions to be made; the rapid advancement of projects and the safe relinquishment of licenses’ that had been held for their full legal tenure.• Built the largest hangar in Botswana for the Zeppelin at Sir Seretse Khama Airport within five months from securing capital, obtaining permissions through to completion. This was necessary for the Zeppelin to undertake mandatory annual inspections and critical repairs during the project.
