With over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I have a passion for empowering communities through education and building social-capital. As the Executive Director of Steel City Squash, I lead a team of dedicated staff and volunteers who partner with students, their families, their schools, and their communities to help them become college-ready and achieve their full potential. I have successfully overseen the legal incorporation, fundraising, program development, and community outreach of the organization since its inception in 2014. Most recently, I have lead the organization through an $11 million capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art community facility, which will open in Spring 2024.Before joining Steel City Squash, I was the Director of Alumni Outreach at StreetSquash in New York City, where I created and implemented strategic programming for over 150 alumni attending post-secondary education institutions. I supported them with academic advising, career development, financial literacy, and personal growth. I also leveraged my experience in skill development, family development, and community-building to foster a strong alumni network and culture of giving back. I am proud to have contributed to StreetSquash's high school and college graduation rates of 100%. I also assisted StreetSquash's Executive Director with fundraising, helping to raise over $200,000 annually for their major fundraising event and securing foundation grants of over $50,000 annually.I began my career as a high school history teacher at The Woodhall School in Bethlehem, CT. There I worked in a small class setting to assist students who had not found success in traditional school systems. I helped lead a curriculum redesign for the history department and taught all levels of high school history. I also served as a coach, advisor and dorm-parent.
