Worked as a Senior Manager of Supply Chain at Grocermax.com. At Grocermax.com, a B2C e-grocery Delivery start-up, based out of Gurgaon, I joined as a senior manager of the Supply chain. The company ran on seed funding, which meant survival in a low-margin business that demanded high productivity and quality of service to the customer. I was part of a team that developed a ‘scan-to-pack’ method. It was a service model that promised next-day delivery, aggregating orders into a pool of purchase indents distributed to three different picking pods. The Azadpur Mandi (for fruits and vegetables), Metro Cash and Carry (Packaged Goods), and the Palam Vihar local market (to make up for non-picked items). These aggregated orders were then disaggregated at a Distribution Center 50 kilometers away from these pods.The model decreased supplier-related sourcing costs by 40%.I helped implement the model on the ground, bringing the supply chain costs down by 70%. The technological interventions improved the overall productivity.
