Served as primary author for ISAF Commander General David Petraeus' Counterinsurgency Contracting Guidance.

Conducted a comprehensive study on nuclear proliferation in the Middle East which included research in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. As an Assistant Professor (formerly Instructor) of American Politics, Policy, and Strategy in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy at West Point, taught a course in American politics, taught and course directed an upper level course in American foreign policy, and designed and taught an upper level course entitled "Studies in Grand Strategy: Lessons for U.S. Policy", which was featured on National Public Radio. Awarded William F. Murdy Award for Teaching Excellence.

Served as an Army Aviation officer in the 25th Infantry Division and the 12th Aviation Battalion. Qualified helicopter pilot in the UH/EH/VH-60 “Blackhawk”, UH-1 “Huey”, and the TH-67 “Creek”. Commanded U.S. Army Command Aviation Company. Responsible for all training, operations, and maintenance, including a 1900 hour flight training program, 12 UH/VH-60 “Blackhawk” helicopters, and equipment worth over $60 million. Responsible for national level contingency operations as well as priority air transport missions in support of the President’s cabinet, Members of Congress, and Department of Defense leaders. Graduate of Air Assault School, Army Aviation Officer Basic Course (Honor Graduate), Initial Entry Rotary Wing Aviator Course, UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Aviator Qualification Course, EH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter System Qualification Course, Military Intelligence Officer Transition Course, Military Intelligence Officer Advanced Course, and the Combined Arms and Services Staff School.
