Project: Ultrasonic communication for Internet of Things (IoT) devices using a cryptographic communication protocolThis was a dual project between the mechanical engineering department and the computer science department. I accepted the position through one of my computer science professors because of my interest in cryptography and IoT.The first phase of the project involved designing, sourcing, assembling, and testing an electrostatic speaker and microphone that can function in the ultrasonic range. This is the portion of the project that I completed in the semester that I was a research assistant. I worked closely with a professor in the mechanical engineering department who helped a lot in designing the circuit for the speaker and microphone.The second phase (which I did not get to in the semester timeframe) was to design and implement a cryptographic communication protocol.
