Woven Spark Quilt Company was an e-commerce fabric store that I owned and operated from 2018-2022. I built the brand from the ground up including all of our graphic design both print and digital, formed our brand identity and built our website domain, wovenspark.com, using the Shopify Plus platform. I utilized a multi-marketplace strategy to run the business which saw us selling a 500 SKU inventory on our own domain as well as Etsy, Amazon, and Walmart Marketplaces. In addition to brand design and marketing, I also set pricing structures and strategies, handpicked our inventory with half a dozen suppliers and led the creation of all of the company's operational procedures and workflow. Customer satisfaction was number one on my list and, as a result, I maintained a 5 star rating on every platform I sold on. Over the 4 years I was in business, I worked hard to established credibility and created confidence quickly and easily with online sales prospects. I photographed and wrote product descriptions, sales copy and researched appropriate SEO terms for all items to boost visibility. I resolved issues quickly through meticulous research and quick and definitive decision making. I found that the most fulfilling aspect of the business was the development of our website and design assets including print, digital and branded products which has led me to pivot my career towards UX Design.

While working at Bank of Texas in their main Cash Vault, I maintained and monitored coin and currency levels in bank vault andverified coin and currency sums received from branches, correspondent banks, customers and tellers. I ordered and disbursed coin and currency to keep vault balanced and supply branches, banks and customers. I prepared and securely shipped excess coin and currency to Federal Reserve Bank or correspondent banks, balanced completed work and compiled inventory reports. I worked at a fast pace and consistently balanced daily cash deposits and vault inventory with zero error rate. I received customer and banking center deposits from armored carriers and balanced deposits to accompanying manifest. The vault position required that I navigate and master multiple computer systems, applications and search tools and operated high-speed desktop currency counters and coin machines. I verified, captured and balanced deposits and audited check image quality as well as loaded and unloaded wagons, flatbed carts and buggies carrying heavy coin bags and boxes. I left this job due to a lack of childcare during the pandemic.

I completed thorough opening, closing and shift change functions to maintain operational standards each day, staged merchandise and stocked sales floor to stimulate impulse sales and mentored employees in management of complicated sales, complex issues and difficult customers. As is often required in retail, I remained calm and professional in stressful circumstances and effectively diffused tense situations. I also connected with customers to provide assistance and collect feedback to optimize operations. My favorite part of this job was managing the visual merchandising and creating appealing window displays and store layout to encourage good flow. I left this position to relocate to New Mexico.
