I have served in the US Coast Guard for 20 years as a Machinery Technician by trade, and now a Marine Safety Specialist Engineering gaining qualifications for inspecting/surveying various vessels. In that time I have also earned a bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences and completed the Coast Guards Advanced Computer and Engineering Technology Program (ACET), earning an AAS degree in Marine Engineering and Management. A few of my other notable achievements are completion of a 16 hour ISM certificate, a welding course with an emphasis on metallurgy and uses of metals, a safety coordinator course, ABYC certifications in AC&R and Marine Gas Engines, professional certificates for Marine Electrician, Marine Propulsion, and Marine Technology and a Gas Free Engineer Certification. I am organized, dedicated and have been providing exceptional leadership with the ability to work effectively in stressful situations. I have been dedicated to both preventative and proactive management throughout my entire career. Being in the military has given me the strong foundation for teamwork with the ability to have effective listening and planning skills to complete any task at hand. I have an exceptional track record within the military as a strategic and innovative leader skilled at achieving outstanding results by inspiring organizational excellence among others. Great at prioritizing and completing tasks in a timely manner, yet flexible to multitask when necessary. My work environment has been structured with hierarchies of authority, levels of unit organization, multiple functional areas, culturally diverse people, and a multitude of policies and regulations that govern how everything is done. Because of this environment, my leadership techniques have been critical to maintain order and discipline and execute operations with the highest-performance rate.
