I have worked different kinds of jobs in my short career. Starting a career in the U.S. Army helped me work on my technical skills, communication skills, and team building skills in order to complete missions. Clear communication in the Military paints a clear picture of the sight of what is needed and what needs accomplished. Having technical expertise through practice, questions, and implementation of SOPS ensured mission readiness and faster reaction times. Transitioning into the civilian sector, I had to relearn how to be a civilian again and work on overall communication. Military lingo didn't work for me anymore, doing more with little information didn't work anymore. I have enjoyed my jobs and all the learning that has come of them and will continue to learn as much as I can with questions, and repetition. Working as a contractor Tier 2 helpdesk specialist, I did learn how to talk to numerous types of people, understanding their concerns, and being able to give information that would help restoration efforts. Being able to call network providers taught me that every place is different and you have to adjust and adapt to expectations of the distant end while also multi-tasking with administration, trouble shooting a multitude of devices, and higher priority jobs that needed completed.
