As a System Analyst my primary responsibility is managing IT related projects or technologies. In a more technical role my responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, and support of all of Kankakee Valley REMC's computer systems, storage, network and security appliances. In this position I have strengthened my skills and experience in many areas including; Storage Area Networks, vSphere infrastructure administration, VDI, Exchange deployment, Windows server/ADDS administration, firewall deployment, network administration & design (L3 routing, STP, ACLs, VLANs, EtherChannel), SIEM deployment & administration, documentation, and wireless network deployment.

As a PC Support/Analyst/Specialist my primary responsibilities were to provide technical support for end users, implement and troubleshoot computer hardware and software, perform regular upgrades and patching on all computer systems, administer and maintain the local area network. In this role I also was responsible for managing the IT department's budget, projects, and inventory. In this position I gained technical skills and experience in many areas including; patch management, virtualization, server administration, basic networking skills, MDM administration, and Active Directory Domain Services.

As an employee in the Meter Department over the course of 8 years I gained skills and experience in various areas in the metering field. Initially hired as a Meter Reader my responsibilities included driving to each location to record metering readings for monthly billing. Moving away from traditional mechanical meters and into a smart meter solution, I had the opportunity to be part of the implementation of our Advanced Metering Infrastructure deployment. As an AMI technician my roles included implementing and maintaining AMI PLC equipment, troubleshooting communication and other hardware/software related issues, testing and verifying meters/configurations, and the physical installation of the different metering standards. During this time I also was trained and placed on-call as an Groundman in the Line Department. My roles for this position included assisting Linemen and Operators in the construction and maintenance of our electrical system, respond to after hour outage calls with Linemen, and take place in the Line Department's safety training programs.
