Bryan M. Armstrong is a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting and is based in Chicago. He serves as head of the capital markets communications practice in the Americas and is a senior member of the Industrials sector team. For nearly 20 years, Mr. Armstrong has provided strategic, communications and research-driven counsel on business transformations, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and other complex issues facing publicly traded companies. Mr. Armstrong also has extensive experience in the design, execution and application of primary and secondary research to diagnosis critical client matters and inform strategic decision-making. This includes working with clients to assess new market opportunities, shape strategic planning, develop corporate positioning and brand strategies, define resource allocation priorities and execute highly effective and targeted communications. Mr. Armstrong joined the FTI Strategic Communications practice as part of the acquisition of Ashton Partners in October 2007. While at Ashton Partners, he served as one of three partners advising clients primarily in the industrial, technology and healthcare sectors on financial communications. His experience includes: issues management, transaction communications and investor relations. In addition, he was the firm’s key strategist in counseling clients through shareholder activism, contested proxies and other dissident shareholder relations issues. Mr. Armstrong received his B.B.A. in finance at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, with a concentration in international business. In addition, Mr. Armstrong holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of CFA Chicago and the CFA Institute.
