The Akron Civic Theatre (nonprofit), a historical 1920’s atmospheric theatre and anchor entertainment destination with an annual operating budget of $2.1 million. The Theatre also managed Lock 3 Park, an outdoor amphitheater hosting festivals, concerts, and special events bringing 200,000 people annually to downtown Akron.Implemented fundraising strategy for Akron Civic Theatre including annual giving, corporate solicitations and special event fundraising. • Submitted grants and sponsorship proposals to corporations and foundations for season sponsorship, and support of fundraising events including the signature “Evening with the Stars,” “Reading Festival,” and the “All Access” program which provided free tickets to social service clients in the community. • Promoted the mission of the organization, including tours and speaking engagements to invoke a sense of community ownership in the historical Akron Civic Theatre.• Coordinated the inaugural “HolidayFest 2004” with the City of Akron, a winter destination with authentic German Chriskindlmarket, ice skating rink and family friendly events including parades, celebrations, and professional ice skating demonstrations at Lock 3 Park.
