As a Project engineer, I am usually involved in the construction process throughout every phase from planning to closeout. My responsibilities as a project engineer include the following:Project Planning: Collaborating with architects, contractors, and clients to develop timelines and budgets.Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation of labor, materials, and equipment to meet project goals efficiently.Quality Control: Monitoring construction progress to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks and challenges that may arise during the construction process.Communication: Facilitating effective communication between project stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and clients.Problem-Solving: Resolving technical issues and conflicts that may arise on-site to keep the project on track.Compliance: Ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards throughout the construction process.Document Control: Maintaining accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and construction drawings.Project Closeout: Facilitating the completion and handover of the project, including final inspections, client acceptance, and warranty documentation.

In my role as an assistant superintendent, I was responsible for driving the project schedule and daily operations. Implementation of daily check-in. Conducting tailgate meetings. Verify subcontractors fulfill scope requirements. Schedule planning: Utilize MS project software and Procore to drive scheduling for subcontractors, inspections, long lead procurement, and project milestones. Client relations: Report weekly to clients with site progress, RFIs and miscellaneous challenges on the jobsite. Maintain good client expectations. Perform punchlist and turnover walks.
