Veteran developer of informal STEAM education programs for educators, students, families and the public. I am a lifelong science enthusiast and former classroom teacher who has found his niche in museum based education. Opportunities to truly ignite a passion for STEAM abound in the informal learning environment. In my current role as the Chief of Play and Learning at the DuPage Children’s Museum I help young explorers develop an understanding of their world while having a whole lot of fun in museum, school and community settings. At the Museum of Science and Industry I was responsible for extending the reach of MSI's educational initiatives outside the walls of the museum by building partnerships with schools, libraries and community based organizations to provide high quality STEAM opportunities for kids in their own neighborhoods. In addition to managing community education projects, I also helped reenergize and reorganize MSI’s guest facing science programs. Through direct interactive teaching, or managing education programs and projects, I am dedicated to helping all children see how much fun they can have doing science and open opportunities for science to have a meaningful role in their future.
