Sample projects and activities include writing NIH and foundation grants, leading a learning community on youth SBIRT, developing projects and writing grants for alcohol and drug prevention and early intervention for youth, developing an expanded SBIRT model including mental health and trauma in juvenile justice settings, developing recommendations to facilitate family engagement and involvement in juvenile drug courts, conducting trainings, delivering conference presentations as an invited speaker, serving as an expert reviewer for training manuals and interactive simulations, and serving on advisory committees.

Secured a $400,000 contract to facilitate uptake of SBIRT in pediatric settings across NYS. In my role as Adolescent SBIRT Initiative Lead, I was also state liaison on a research project testing the impact of a computerized screening and brief intervention program in school-based health centers, defining project protocol and securing site participation.

NYSBIRT was a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)-funded alcohol and other drug early intervention program. The project integrated alcohol and other drug early intervention services into STD clinics in NYC and emergency departments and primary care settings in Jefferson County to serve the military community near Fort Drum. Services were also expanded into school-based health centers, federally qualified health centers, and a TB clinic in the Bronx. In this position I was also an agency lead on SBIRT in school-based health centers and wrote three successful SAMHSA grants for the Research and Development Unit at OASAS.

Project Evaluator of the SAMHSA-funded Project LINK Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) program in NYC STD clinics. Also developed and implemented an SBIRT pilot project in NYS school-based health centers.

Evaluation consultant for a US Department of Education funded project to improve mathematics achievement and encourage pursuit of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers among high school females. The grant was part of the Women's Educational Equity Act (WEEA).

Co-Instructor of the undergraduate public health course "From Cholera to Cancer: History, Achievements, and Future Challenges in Public Health."

Based at the University at Albany School of Public Health, conducted evaluations for the Prevention Research Center and the Center for Public Health Preparedness; developed and reviewed survey instruments, performed research and data analysis, conducted focus groups, and wrote reports.

Performed an evaluation of the New York State Strategic Plan for Overweight and Obesity Prevention.

Working within the Division of HIV Prevention, I developed and implemented a performance management system to measure progress on specific HIV prevention indicators. With this system in place, the AIDS Institute is better able to assess where improvements need to be made and decide how to move forward.
