In addition, my responsibilities include the development of positive commercial relationships with suppliers, implementation of company schemes and newly introduced procedures, and planning effective sales schemes while monitoring existing arrangements, to further boost company revenue

I have overseen the provision and delivery of 12,000 meals on a daily basis, ensuring high quality while sticking to a strict budget, ensuring safety and ongoing personal development for all the staff involved in the process. It has entailed working closely with commercial and marketing teams to ensure continually refreshed menus and ingredient initiatives while liaising with the Soil Association to achieve ‘Food For Life’ status.

Description: In this role it was my responsibility to plan and implement menu selections and pricing policies while maintaining compliance with legislative and company policies and the full monitoring process to ensure repairs to equipment and machinery were always prompt and effective. It involved maintaining regular and productive communication with clients and also ensuring training programmes were implemented. The position culminated with being chosen to devlop and introduce the operation on an international basis.

I was tasked with maintaining senior accountability for all purchasing activities within a business turning over £4.6m, with responsibility to deliver a 3-5% annual profit. It meant providing leadership and direction while overseeing the continuous training of more than 20 members of staff. I was also fully accountable for food hygiene and recruitment.

I undertook a wide range of tasks and duties to ensure full client satisfaction in the management of almost a hundred contracts, working autonomously to maintain and increase company profit levels. It meant playing a senior role in supplier acquisition, menu development, marketing and training. Monthly audits, using ISO 9002 guidelines were a key part of the role.

This role saw me responsible for delivering food for up to 600 personnel, while managing everything from health & safety to computerised reporting and from budget development to menu planning. It also saw me act as Catering Manager for Loughborough College, where I was responsible for the provision of a food service to a thousand students, While also developing a team of central support chefs to the business nationally.

Ten years, working all over the world and in all sorts of different situations gave me an excellent grounding in the catering industry.I fulfilled a variety of roles, being promoted from Second Chef to Executive Chef before leaving the company in a third role.
