About Brian Burns

I am an electrical engineer with academic and industry experience in MR physics, signal/image processing, software engineering, and mathematical optimization. I have Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. My PhD dissertation focused on sparse image reconstruction of MRI. I am currently a Senior Scientist at GE Healthcare where I am developing novel MR pulse sequences and image reconstruction techniques in collaboration with Stanford and UCSF.My interests are in clinical imaging trial design, MRI pulse sequence development, low level signal/image processing, ML/DL, and mathematical algorithm development applied to medical imaging data.
