 Maintained a pre-twitter wireless messaging application serving 2,000,000 users. It represented 4% of US cell phone SMS messages at its peak.  Supported app running on 50 Sun machines Responsible for Microsoft Server, Exchange, and Active Directory maintenance activities for our 50 user network. Network troubleshooting a part of this task, including etherpeek and ethereal running on UNIX. Security audits of vulnerable Unix and Windows system. When appropriate, executed orchestrated virus response to maintain companywide data integrity and productivity. Managed UPOC’s six Oracle 8i, 9i, and 10g databases, ensuring availability and performance. Managed weekly Oracle partitioning of our production Very-Large DB, in addition to all backups, and recovery for six databases. Implemented JDBC connection pools between the databases, TOPLink object relational software, and our Java application servers.  Responsible for the UNIX equipment onsite, running Solaris or HP-UX (Sun 450, 3000, 3500, 420R, and HP L1000).  Supported Windows 2000 servers running on HP Proliant, remote access services such as VNC and PCAnywhere. Oracle implementation engineer for the Newark site. Integrated Oracle into Netscape/Sun IPLANET running on Solaris running on NT4 or Win2000 Server. Also created RMAN scripts to ensure proper backup of Oracle data. Managed production environments for dot coms’ such as primelearning.com, mccain.com, e7th.com, and tradingedge.com (including implementing Oracle, IPLANET, IIS4 and IIS5, Veritas netbackup, collaborative webservers (Centra, ESHARE, Weblogix), and security (via Checkpoint firewalls.). Also managed DNS for all of our customers on the east coast, including registering and transferring customer DNS from/through INTERNIC, creation of zone files, updates to zone files, upgrades of DNS BIND servers running BIND on Sun Solaris or Microsoft DNS services on Win2000 server and advanced server. Also did performance and security testing on our BIND and Microsoft DNS implementations for our customers. Manager of backup procedures and execution using Veritas netbackup and Veritas Global Datacenter running on SUN equipment.
