About Brian Landers
I am passionate about creating a community-centered food system here in my hometown. Finding my way into food by working in restaurants and attending culinary school, I have come to learn how much more there is to food than simply cooking or eating it. I'm now focused on food's power to create social change, fight climate change and build resilient communities.My interest goes beyond my career, and I grow a large garden full of tomatoes, kale, peppers, squash, eggplant and so many other vegetables depending on the season. Eight chickens are part of our homer. I also dedicate time to volunteering on the board of my neighborhood farmer's market and contributing work to a local food-focused political organization. In my free time, you can find me on my bike, reading a book, or cooking in the kitchen.
