I am a professional civil engineer whose experience in project/program/grant management, transportation design and site/civil design has provided me a unique skill set. I have had the opportunity to work on all aspects of a large scale program including:• Program level documentation and administration;• Program, project and stakeholder agreements development, coordination and execution including but not limited to; Grant Agreements, Municipal Agreements, Construction and Maintenance Agreements, Rights-of-Entry, Utility Right of Use Agreements; • Fiscal management within and outside of NCDOT’s systems beginning with preliminary/final engineering through construction and ultimately operation and maintenance of items constructed;• Direct reporting responsibilities and coordination with Federal Agencies, NCDOT Senior Management, Division Level Staff, State Legislators, State Legislative Fiscal Representatives, City/Town Elected Officials and Staff, Class I Railroad’s Senior Staff, and local newspapers;• Program and project level schedule development and coordination/maintenance;• Development of general management tools utilizing components of available NCDOT systems and private resources;My design experience has provided opportunities in the management of design of preliminary, right of way, and construction plans on freeways, urban, and rural roadway design projects, railroad design and site design and permitting. Through these experiences, I have become proficient in the use of MicroStation, GeoPak, and AutoCAD Land Desktop design software packages. I am also experienced with both AASHTO standards and other local jurisdictional design specifications. Responsibilities have included coordinating activities with State Departments of Transportation, Municipalities, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, other consultants and the public.

Site/Civil Design and Project ManagementOur company focused on development of commercial and residential design properties. With offices in Fuquay-Varina, Wake Forest and Oak Island, we were able to provide a full range of design services including conceptual and final site design, storm water and erosion permitting, grading plans, municipal zoning and permitting, water design, and sewer design.

I worked with the Municipal Traffic Engineering Assistance Program (MTEAP) to provide transportation related engineering studies to towns that lacked the funds to hire a firm to do those studies for them. The type of work varied from various types of traffic studies to other transportation related improvement studies like intersection improvements, speed studies, access issues, site distance problem areas, parking studies and school queuing onsite and offsite. The work was rewarding and had the opportunity to work with and meet many really great people during my time at NCDOT.
