I led the transition team responsible for bringing Netflix infrastructure in-house during a change of tenancy. My team and I coordinated a multi-phase move of tenants, ensuring business continuity while managing Engineering, Network, and Compliance for a 70,000 sq ft facility and a multi-story parking structure. We manage a complex network for multiple subtenants and an off-site colocation for multi-site disaster recovery and international remote client access.I rearchitected security networks for enhanced reliability and uptime, performed risk assessments, and led site compliance visits. Additionally, I assisted with the Genetec head-end migration for over 110 cameras and 100 doors. My team simplified signal flow for a custom-built Sony Crystal LED Reflex theater and several ATMOS edit suites. We worked with technical platforms such as Juniper SRX, Mist, Arista, Evertz routing, Cisco switching, and Fortinet devices. We also transitioned video & color engineering vendors into a consolidated in-house team, achieving total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction.

Initially contracted as a security consultant to assess a 15+ year-old facility with multiple networks, I was later hired full-time as Director of Technology. In this role, I oversaw the reconstruction and architecture of the NYC facility. Within two months, I built out a TPN-compliant colocation datacenter, enabling remote color and offline clients. I also stabilized the existing infrastructure and developed a comprehensive roadmap to achieve organization-wide TPN compliance goals.

I oversaw complex technical and security requirements for working with major studio entities such as Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Apple, Viacom, and HBO. I led the design and implementation of a Greenfield project for two facilities in Soho/West Village.I was responsible for setting and maintaining zero-trust operations, leading engineering teams through migrations, day-to-day operations, and new developments. My role included contributing to CAPEX and OPEX budgets, managing technical aspects of new construction projects, and recruiting top engineering talent in NYC.Our team's work was featured in NAB press releases for leading Autodesk Flame architecture deployments in AWS. Additionally, I orchestrated the infrastructure, budgeting, and talent acquisition for the long-form content division.

I designed and implemented an ExtremeOS-backed 100-Gigabit backbone for intra-facility use, architected a scalable network design, and served as the centralized NOC for a NY facility. I oversaw the research, development, and implementation of a minimal ‘SDI & NDI-over-IP’ in-house solution, managed centralized Palo Alto firewall configurations, and led the Disney TPN Security Audit.Amidst the challenges of COVID, I directed a significant redesign and implementation of a 3-phase 208v redundant power system in the facility and designed and implemented 1PB of tiered, ZFS-backed NVMe & SSD storage. My efforts densified existing storage by a factor of 2, reduced operating costs, and improved in-house Netflix delivery.I created extensive diagrams and documentation for all in-house and external solutions, troubleshot color systems during live supervised sessions, and maintained Quantum-based SANs and Fibre-Channel networks. I optimized workflow and delivery systems through scripting, designed and implemented a virtualized Avid environment with substantial ROI, and performed reference monitor calibrations to ISF standards. Additionally, I prototyped a Postgres-backed web UI for tracking internal and on-set monitor calibrations.My daily duties included working closely with Vault/DataIO, Editorial, Dailies, Conform, Color, Facility, and Sales teams to increase efficiency through better use of existing and emerging technologies.

I drafted and implemented storage and network solutions as a managed service in the Public Safety sector. I supported Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve on remote edit stations, managing media workflows and data flow from on-set operations to on-premises storage arrays. Additionally, I provided managed web-based support (Apache/PHP) to clients and offered storage and network consulting services. I ensured that editors could access media at high-throughput rates on networked workstations.

I led a 90-day migration, transitioning from an incumbent MSP to an in-house and offshore-based solution. I built new AWS cloud infrastructure and provided daily training to new staff.I successfully deployed live-capable studios in new buildings in Philadelphia and Switzerland, achieving a 9-day turnaround in Switzerland. My sysadmin duties spanned from tier 2-4, with a strong focus on automating and enhancing the video department’s workflow. I was responsible for the daily support of clients and end-users internationally.Additionally, I designed a 7-node CEPH cluster alongside local ZFS-based storage, incorporating remote replication for branch offices, specifically tailored for the video department. I also managed the IT requirements for new branch offices.
