CurrentBrian is a Senior Partner at SloaneWalsh, LLP, concentrating on professional liability defense and employment law in state and Federal Court and before administrative agencies. His experience includes multiple successful jury trials to verdict in both civil and criminal matters, and prevailing in argument before appellate courts.Brian has been selected to “Super Lawyers” every year since 2013, and in 2014 he was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates. Brian is a "Litigation Counsel of America" Fellow, and has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" since 2018. Of note, Mr. Sullivan has successfully defended unique professional liability claims involving scientific research activities and publications, including product disparagement and trade practices claims.Prior to joining SloaneWalsh, LLP, in 2001, Mr. Sullivan served in the U.S. Navy, primarily as a criminal defense lawyer representing military personnel in Courts-Martial, and, before attending law school on a Navy scholarship program, as a Surface Warfare Officer onboard USS KAUFFMAN (FFG-59) deploying to the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, the Baltic Sea with NATO, and the Caribbean Sea performing counter narcotics trafficking operations . Brian taught trial practice to junior attorneys at the Naval Justice School and International Law with the Defense Institute for International Legal Studies, retiring from the Judge Advocate General’s Corps as a Commander.In private life, Mr. Sullivan lives in Rockport, MA, where he is active in local government, having served on the Rockport School Committee, including as Chairman, from 2005-2011, and as Chairman of the Government and Bylaw Committee.
