I have worked in the human service field since 2003. During this time, I have acquired priceless experiences that has positioned me to be in the best role I could ever imagine. Transitioning into my current responsibility as Director of the Supportive Services Program with Harford Community Action Agency, I am thrilled to be in a role that prompts high levels of advocacy for those who typically are not heard. Working with vulnerable adults has been a true blessing for me and it is my passion. I have been privileged to work for and along with this demographic while facilitating stable housing options for those in need.

Additionally, the SSP department also oversees the waitlist for adults and families with children to receive referrals for available emergency shelter, transitional housing or permanent supportive housing options.… Show more The Supportive Services Program (SSP) department is located at 1321-B Woodbridge Station Way in Edgewood, Maryland 21040. SSP with Harford Community Action Agency (HCAA) is the centralized intake location for all individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Harford County. Additionally, the SSP department also oversees the waitlist for adults and families with children to receive referrals for available emergency shelter, transitional housing or permanent supportive housing options. The SSP department will also link households in need with mental health assistance and referrals, medical insurance, ABE/GED information, employment assistance and vital records. The SSP Director is also part of a 3 member street outreach team that will visit places not commonly meant for habitation to engage individuals experiencing homelessness and get them linked to resources such as emergency shelter and stable housing interventions through the Rapid Re-Housing (RRH) Program. The SSP Director is also responsible for the day to day operation of this department to include but not limited to personnel, implementation of services, maintaining fiscal controls of grant funding, public speaking and networking with other agencies. In addition to the aforementioned duties the SSP Director will also oversee data entry and data quality efforts within CAP 60 and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) databases for grant reporting purposes. Participants are to adhere to their care plan for one year and if successful, will graduate from the program with a suspended sentence or their previous crime will be placed on a stet docket. I provide case management services to each individual to help link them to the person centered resources that they need in order to remain compliant to program guidelines. I monitor these efforts weekly and report status updates to the MHDP team comprised of county employees representing Harford County Drug Court, Parole & Probation, The Office of Public Defenders and the Maryland State’s Attorney. In addition to the MHDP grant, I also assist the Mosaic ACT Team in Harford County by overseeing the Spring Grove Housing Grant. My role is to ensure that the individuals living in this housing program are adequately engaged in their ACT team services and assist them by adhering to the leasing guidelines associated to their living arrangement.
