I am an experienced researcher in the field of experimental mechanics. My specialty is in the mechanics of composite materials and composite structures which includes characterization, modeling, and failure analysis. In my time as a research assistant I have learned how to produce quality and consistent composite parts and have developed test programs which serve to efficiently characterize various materials. Testing of anisotropic materials can be an expensive and time consuming process so I have worked on developing test methods that take an intelligent approach towards characterization which reduces the number of tests necessary to fully understand the deformation and failure of a material.Combined with my background in structural analysis, I am well suited to evaluate the implementation of advanced materials in place of those which are more traditional. This is especially true for any structure that may experience dynamic loadings, such as armor or crash structures.I am looking for a full time position with a company that is always looking to improve their structural designs to create safer, more efficient structures. I look forward to working with a smart, diverse team as I've found the best ideas are usually sparked by viewing the problem from a different perspective. From my teaching experience, I've learned quite a bit from students asking questions which I had not thought of before. I look forward to working with intelligent people that can help sharpen each other's ideas.
