Brian is the Executive Business Unit Leader in charge of Tax Consulting Services at Boyce. Brian also manages the Goulburn office along with Kate Garrett.Brian commenced his professional career with Boyce as a cadet accountant in December 2000 after completing his HSC. As part of the firm’s cadetship program, Brian combined work and study appreciating the ability to apply his learning to “real life” situations and clients. It was not long before Brian’s innate ability to research and interpret taxation legislation resulted in his transition to the firm’s Tax Consulting Division in late 2002. The Boyce Tax Consulting Division is charged with providing consulting services to the professional accounting team and our clients across all Boyce offices. The Division’s expertise is in researching and understanding complicated taxation matters with the aim to deliver sophisticated and practical taxation strategies to meet business and/or family group objectives.In recognition of his extraordinary technical expertise and knowledge, Brian was appointed as the firm’s Senior Tax Consultant in early 2013.Brian consults across a broad range of tax matters from intricate salary and wage matters through to very complex public entity taxation issues. Brian has a a real passion for providing practical and understandable solutions and maintaining a detailed knowledge of all areas of tax to be able to provide truly integrated solutions.In addition to advisory work Brian has also been involved in taxation policy design primarily through various written submissions to government, being a member of a number of Treasury and industry body consultation & discussion groups and drafting papers for interest groups to lobby governments for change.In November 2020, Brian was admitted as a Director and from 1 July 2023 appointed Executive Business Unit Leader - Boyce Tax Consulting Services.
