Prepared all z/OS DB2 subsystems for upgrade from V9 to V10. Upgrades went perfect except for 1 object out of over 15,000. After the successful upgrade, moved to a User ID remediation project for all DB2 LUW database servers which captured access for each ID and then worked with each Project Manager to remediate each ID.

Perform zOS DB2 DBA Functions. Created a verification document for CATools upgrade. Fulfill DB Request tickets - object modification, security, problem determination. Offer opinions on system performance. Set up of Golden Gate Replication sourcing on the mainframe for an Oracle target.

* Support PeopleSoft HR on z/OS DB2 – tasks include implementing DDL upgrades, problem determination, performance problem resolution. Researched heavily to solve a deadly embrace situation that was effecting Payroll processing.* Modified home-grown DB2 Reorg process to using an IBM stored procedure which used more statistics for Reorg determination. * Researched and tested zParm value changes to reduce costs for Image Copy procedures.* Implemented Explain table upgrade procedure in preparation for DB2 v10.

* Contracted to move data from archived backups to database. Used CA Platinum Migrator to create a copy database of desired tables. Was originally hired for six weeks to only move data for one project. Finished in under three weeks. Was asked to stay as long as possible for other internal projects.* Set up replication to move data from one z/OS system to another on a continuous basis.* Analyzed SQL using CA Explain and Visual Explain.* Copied production-like database to testing using Hanier's BCV5 tool.* Performed common DBA tasks such as object modification, table rotation, authority management, plan/package maintenance, synonym/alias creation and problem determination.

* Served as a DBA representative for data modeling sessions on a 60 table contractor tracking system. Worked closely with data modeler to determine the optimal design for the database. Created and modified logical model using Erwin software. Worked with owners of existing legacy databases in order to find a source for much of the data. Often assisted lesser experienced DBAs. Assisted co-workers on other projects with complex SQL queries. Documented procedures before turning over applications.* Analyzed long running queries. In one recent case, was able to decrease query run time from over 20 hours to under 30 minutes.* Created 0 Severity 1 problems.
