With 15 years of experience in innovative and progressive education, I am the Director of Engineering and Design at Synapse School, a TK-8 independent school in Menlo Park, CA that fosters creativity, collaboration, and social-emotional learning. I lead an incredible team of creative educators who integrate engineering, design, and making into our daily practice and curriculum, pushing the boundaries of what education should be.I am a self-starter with a passion for learning new things, tinkering, experimenting, and creating. I have founded and developed multiple projects and programs that reflect my interests and values, such as Spruce Effects, a boutique audio electronics company, and the Synapse Engineering and Design Center, a state-of-the-art facility that empowers students and teachers to explore, invent, and solve real-world problems. I am on a mission to help the world rethink how people learn by doing and creating, and to leave the world a little bit better.I love building new things and thrive in ambiguity, change, and dynamic environments. I am deeply familiar with multiple phases of educaiton start-ups and have been lucky enough to hone my leadership skills over the last 15 years at Synapse School.
