Quality Assurance Technician
CurrentI am currently a team leader who is responsible for various parts produced by rotational molding machine. Current/previous responsibilities:* Followed new projects and develop standards for production. * Responsibilities included improving production, reducing costs, customer product samples and improving the quality of products by analyzing and recommending alternate production methods, materials and equipment, and design specifications.* Responsibilities also included working with Quality Engineer on FEMA documentation of production processes and procedures, and perform process capability studies. Communicate and collaborate with coworkers (Engineering, Quality, Shipping, Sales, and Front-line Management). * Responsibilities included: mold/fixture inspection; parts/supplies validation; create sample products; recommend and make mold/fixture adjustments; assist in the creation, editing, and review of the bill of materials; develop visual work instructions with a technical writer and facilitate updates, adjustments, and alterations; design and develop custom packaging methods; train management and floor employees on new products. Selected Accomplishments:* Re-organization of various packaging procedures allowing the company to save over $4,000 in packaging materials. * Additional cost reductions achieved by decreasing the total number of shipments needed to deliver the products (reduced by 25%).* Utilized internal resources through combining project tools and reducing excess material; thus saving the customer over $4,200.00 during the projects lifecycle. * Reduced external customer's expenses through utilizing company resources; thus saving the customer over $2,400 during this projects lifecycle. * Managed efforts to increase production and reduce scrap; while continuing to meet customer requirements and expectations through Lean Manufacturing, ISO, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.* Scrap reduction.
