I work in communications for the Flinn Foundation, a private, nonprofit, grantmaking organization that supports the advancement of the biosciences in Arizona, the Flinn Scholars program, arts and culture, and the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership. My primary responsibilities are writing, storytelling, and editing, including website content, feature stories, social media, digital and print publications, and press releases. My duties also include media and community relations, internal communications, e-mail campaigns, strategic planning, and branding.

The Crosiers are an 800-year-old international religious order of Catholic priests and brothers. The U.S. headquarters are based in Phoenix. I worked in both internal and external communications, including writing for the quarterly newspaper, media relations, managing the website and social media, photography, and event planning.

Scottsdale, Arizona

I covered a number of issues for what was at the time a competitive metro daily newspaper. My last beat was Scottsdale city government, including local politics, business, development, neighborhood issues, and more. Previously, I covered similar topics in Mesa and Gilbert while also reporting on more regional issues such as photo radar enforcement and sales-tax incentives.
