WaterWorks is an SEC and FINRA registered Regulation Crowdfunding funding portal. I was responsible for defining and leading all core operational functions, including investment platform design & supervision, user experience, regulatory compliance, finance, accounting, IT, engineering, HR, legal, and automation. I collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop consistent, scalable, and constantly improving policies, procedures, controls, systems, and technology solutions across finance, operations, and the entire company. I led the preparation and presentation of materials and documents for shareholder meetings, regulatory requests & filings, board meetings, and company annual report. Additionally, I supervised all aspects of the investment platform and its processes, including indications of interest, investment commitments and transactions, AML-KYC checks, investor suitability, investor accreditation, subscription booklets, state Blue Sky and other SEC filings.

Managed a statewide gubernatorial candidate campaign. Led all aspects of a $6m organization including budgeting, strategic planning, consultant selection and oversight, staff and facility buildout, digital programs, scheduling, political engagement, communications, field organizing, and fundraising.

Managed day-to-day bookkeeping for five company files with $40m+ in revenue and 30+ employees. Maintained general ledgers, chart of accounts, payables, receivables, reimbursements, payrolls, and month-end closings including reconciliations and closing journal entries in accordance with corporate protocols and GAAP. Presented reports to executive leadership monthly, quarterly and ad hoc.

Managed a nationally targeted congressional campaign and led all aspects of a $5m organization including fundraising, budgeting, strategic planning, consultant selection and oversight, staff and facility buildout, digital programs, scheduling, political engagement, communications, and field. Organized and executed the campaign master schedule with 18 debates and 100+ community events, fundraisers, public appearances, speeches, press conferences, and donor meetings. Crafted #ShutDownLine5 as a digital organizing effort to promote awareness of a dangerous oil pipeline running through the Straits of Mackinaw in our Great Lakes. Planned and executed an eight-week, 50+ community tour to organize and activate around #ShutDownLine5.

Wrote foundational operations & financial policies and procedures and guided the company through a period of exponential growth in which top-line revenue increased 22x and the team expanded to more than 20 employees and contractors across the country in just over 3 years. Led search and managed external accounting, legal, human resource, customer service and logistics teams. Collaborated to setup and maintain internal accounting controls, employee policies, and company procedures. Ensured decisions and plans, including those for headcount, product line, sales & marketing, and facilities, were in line with business objectives. Responsible for creating and managing $3m annual budget process. Full-charge bookkeeper. Monitored performance against financial budgets & forecasts, presented monthly and ad hoc reports to executive leadership, and advised on risks and opportunities.

Co-founded boutique fitness training facility. Created structured, innovative fitness programs that succeeded in diverse group atmospheres. Recruited, trained, and mentored quality instructors to create and deliver a quality experience to an organic fitness community.

Managed external affairs across 40+ local communities in the Chicago market. Developed and led strategies to increase public awareness around company philanthropies. Built strong front-line relationships with elected officials, community leaders, non-profit organizations, and other key internal and external stakeholders. Served in leadership roles of local community organizations and deployed political capital to advance company goals.

Wrote campaign finance plans and led fundraising efforts for dozens of elected officials, candidates, and committees.
