In my current role, I train end users, produce client-specific routing solutions through our RouteSourcing service, and guide clients through business process analysis. I have trained users in a variety of industries, including utilities, public works, waste management, and newspaper/total market coverage delivery across the United States. I have also completed RouteSourcing for clients serving between several hundred thousand customers to more than 6 million, from California and across the Midwest to New York. In addition, I have assisted clients in transitioning from traditional walking routes to automatic meter reading drive-by routes. I served for nine years in the City of Portland Field Services workgroup as both a Water Service Inspector and Water Meter Reader. During that time, I gained valuable insights into not only the operations of a large water utility, but also the structure and inner workings of municipal government. My responsibilities included connecting and disconnecting water services during debt collection, inspecting water services for leaks, testing meters for proper functionality, training new users on handheld computer devices, and updating customer accounts in the Cayenta billing system as necessary.

As Business Systems Analyst, I executed day-to-day leadership for a water meter re-routing project, which resulted in a 42 percent reduction in routes, reduced in-field vehicle travel, and had the potential to reduce labor costs by more than $300,000 annually. Our cycle day balancing efforts also aimed to streamline revenue flows and balance debt collections activities and workloads for the Field Services and Customer Service groups. I routinely worked with internal customers across departments and bureaus to meet the project needs of all stakeholders and external customers. In doing so, my focus was on producing functional requirements, identifying industry best practices, and ensuring timely implementation of software systems and reporting functionality.
