• Managed end-to-end development of link-bank-to-Borrow feature, allowing users to link bank accounts via Plaid to flagship Borrow product for underwriting purposes. Architected a new state machine and database entities to track user progress throughout the flow. Boosted origination rates by 20% for customers who linked their bank• Built core Lending constructs to expand Borrow in states with capped APRs. Created and executed a detailed rollout and testing plan to ensure customers would receive correct setup fees for their state. Feature utilizes offline generation of insights based upon events from Amazon SNS/SQS. Added new insight data sources in multiple NerdWallet services, expanding coverage of the system to all products• Implemented profile completion prompts to encourage users to link TransUnion, Yodlee, Plaid, and other financial accounts in order to gain a more comprehensive view of their finances, leading to a 6% increase in engagement• Spearheaded adoption and usage of Terraform in consumer facing teams to generate AWS infrastructure• Acted as the tech lead for Credit Builder, an early precursor to the Credit Boosters feature focused on helping NerdWallet users build up their credit score. Designed and built out the backend engine from the ground up, then further created the accompanying modules both in the mobile application as well as the NerdWallet website• Created a product recommendation carousel and associated backend engine for users that would show personalized recommendations based upon credit score and other financial factors, directly reporting to the CEO and CPO. At the time of implementation, this was the only monetizing feature within the logged in experience• Spun up a backend service to handle recommendations, consolidating recommendation logic for the entire company in one area and cutting down on disparate logic being propagated through various microservices
