Spearheaded analysis of 1060 audio recordings of oral reading for Move to Opportunity project. Developed methodology and workflow to transcribe in ELAN, force aligned and force extracted in FAVE, interfaced between indexed transcription and textgrid using Python, and analyzed in R. Trained and managed undergraduate transcribers. Reported to John Rickford and William Labov.

Designed and ran research studies on language differences in elementary school and what linguistic contexts help students, particularly students of color, learn best. Recruited participants, formed community partnerships.

Taught 3 undergraduate courses that I designed in Linguistics and African American Studies.

Led a workshop for new TAs on facilitating class discussions (specific to Summer 2010); facilitated and critiqued teaching demos; led group discussion of hypothetical scenarios.

Recruited, interviewed, and hired TA trainers for summer TA training. Trained and supervised TA trainers, provided constructive criticism and helped to improve TA’s workshops and ability to facilitate discussion on teaching demonstrations.
