I am a focused individual who finds tasks to keep busy in my employment. I have almost three years of experience in a nutritional lab in multiple departments. My first year directed my attention towards the logistics behind organizing a building that receives more than eight hundred samples a day. My responsibilities were to identify sample’s designated testing and description in order to locate accordingly among the lab’s storage. I also have been HAZMAT shipping trained as well as being very familiar in international shipping regulations, both through UPS and FedEx.The last two years have been directed towards analysis of samples in the proximate department. I have been trained on SOPs in addition to the extensive hands on training. I am familiar in analyzing samples for their fat, fiber, protein, and moisture content. I am also responsible for the NIR machines and managing grain samples with Bruker and Infratec equipment. In addition to wet chemistry analysis, I perform viscosity test on liquid samples and test grain samples for their particle size.My time in a nutritional lab has equipped me with skills to see-do-prove in limited available time and begin functioning on my own. I am responsible for multiple tests with different TAT (Turnaround times) and can manage my shift accordingly. Most of my shift involves no supervision of my department manager so I am aware of keeping on task at work. With my education nearly finished in Animal Science, I am ready to begin my search for a challenging and exciting new field of science. In a laboratory I feel more at home and in control of my settings but I am equipped for anything that comes in front of me.
