Do you remember in elementary school, how adults would ask you: “What do you want to be when you grow?” I remember being at a loss; my interest at the time involved being a part of a baton team, cheer squad, art club, and math and science club. Where could all these interests blend together? Well, fast years later, I have the pleasure of being a part of a scientific community geared to evidence-based practices, where creativity is a necessity for making learning engaging and exciting, and where I get a front-row seat to cheer my clients on in 1:1 ABA therapy. I love the growth I see within Applied Behavior Analysis. I believe in practices that benefit the individuals we work with, through individualizing programming, demonstrating awareness of strengths, and moments when a helping hand would be appreciated. Generalizability, tailoring lessons, and making a socially significant difference in another individual's life, all tie into the creative mindset I bring to this field. As I close one chapter in my education, I am already anticipating the next bridge to becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
