People are my passion. After devoting over 10 years of my career in the financial sector, I've committed myself to applying my knowledge and experience towards helping others improve their financial health. Once working as a bank teller, I found myself drawn to BECU's values and People Helping People philosophy. I joined the BECU team in 2012 as a Member Consultant and have continued to transition into various retail positions within BECU for over 6 years. In 2015, I took a two-year hiatus from banking to teach English as a second language in Japan, eventually returning to BECU. Having been accepted into BECU's first Council for BILD (Belonging, Inclusion, and Leveraging Differences), I feel a strong sense of ownership towards promoting inclusion and equity for all. While in Japan, I obtained my Japanese-Language Proficiency N5 Certificate. During my time as an expat in Japan, I learned first-hand about the challenges involved with being a foreigner in a new country. I believe fervently in showing empathy towards people from all walks of life. In terms of strengths, I consider myself well-versed in mentoring, coaching, interpersonal savviness, emotional intelligence, team building, and networking. Currently, I am pursuing my Bachelor of Science - BS focused in Business Administration and Management from Western Governors University. I care deeply about the Bothell community, having been an active member of the Bothell-Kenmore Chamber of Commerce since February 2020. Most recently, I was honored to be accepted as a board member for the Chamber's Board of Directors.
