I led development of Amazon’s Video Ads program and technology platform. The platform included building an Online Video Platform (OVP) for Video on Demand (VOD) and Live Streaming video based on AWS, building video players for desktop web, mobile web, Android and iOS devices, a video ad server for pre-roll, post-roll and interstitial (VMAP) video ads, developing new e-commerce enabled video ad units (based on VPAID), and integration into Amazon’s Search Experience and Product Detail pages. The team included engineering, content ingestion, product management, content licensing and business development. Products launched were Amazon Video Shorts (which powers all of Amazon’s on-site retail product videos), First Episode Free within Amazon Video for long-form video and powering IMDB’s ad supported video program.
