About Gary Broadbent

Gary Broadbent is the Creative Director and founder of Propella, an independent brand strategy, naming and design agency based in Sydney, Australia. Originally from the North of England, he cut his creative teeth in London in the late 1980s working alongside some of the world’s most influential strategic thinkers, artists, innovators and designers at global agencies including Michael Peters Group and Springpoint. Gary’s approach to strategy and design is one of problem solving by creating beautifully styled big ideas which are based on in depth analysis and understanding of client challenges and objectives. His approach has enabled him to work with a diverse range of client-partners across sectors and disciplines all around the world; from ambitious startups and not-for-profit groups to established businesses and global brands. He is considered to be a leading strategist, brand naming specialist and brand designer with a reputation for creating extremely valuable and iconic brands, not least Vodafone and the ‘speech mark’ logo which is now considered to be the UK’s most valuable brand. Gary and Propella continue to work on all kinds of projects around the world from his base on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
