- In May of 2021, I received my Permaculture Design Certification with an emphasis on mediterranean climate zones. Also called permanent agriculture, permaculture designs manage natural resources effectively and mitigate potential environmental hazards by using native species and organic design components.- While completing my certification program, I began meeting with clients in my area seeking sustainable landscape designs. I provided on-site consultation, surveyed the water, topography, fire threat, wind, and sunlight aspects of their property. A er analyzing these aspects and considering my clients’ needs, I made a comprehensive digital design tailored to meet those needs on a long-term, sustainable scale, as well as digital maps of the water, topography, fire threat, wind, and sunlight aspects of their property.

- Led groups of students on nature walks, outdoor adventures, and hikes- Worked alongside Child Protection Services to provide for the at-home safety of campers and received First Aid andCPR certifications- Counseled groups of Junior High and High School age campers in small group settings and ensured their participation and safety in camp activities

I collected data on the health of forest sites that were clear cut and reforested with different techniques. I also contributed to BLM projects to minimize the spread of non-native invasive species throughout the Monument.

I implemented various wetland restoration techniques along with a team of other student volunteers. I also collaborated with the head restoration ecologist of the program to discuss the ethics of working on historically-indigenous owned land.
