Mr. Berman represents public and private companies, partnerships, individuals and municipalities in a wide variety of business disputes including both individual claims and class actions. He regularly appears in State and Federal Courts throughout California, and has also represented clients at hundreds of alternative dispute resolution proceedings, such as mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Berman is admitted to practice law in all California state and federal districts courts and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Berman is "AV" rated through Martindale-Hubbell,* the highest rating available for both legal ability and professional ethics. He was also voted a "Southern California Super Lawyer"* for seven consecutive years (2006-2012). Mr. Berman's expertise includes Business Litigation; Complex Civil Litigation; Labor & Employment; ERISA Litigation; California’s Unfair Competition Laws; Public Contract Litigation and Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation.Mr. Berman earned his juris doctorate degree from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1994, after a distinguished law school career. He served as a staff writer and editor for the Pacific Law Journal, earned oral finalist honors in the Moot Court Competition Program, was recognized for community involvement, earned Dean’s List honors for academic achievement and was chosen by his peers to give the commencement address. Mr. Berman is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), where he earned a bachelors degree in psychology.
