I have been fortunate enough to hold some pretty great jobs and work with some great people. Each unique experience has shaped me into the person I am today. I started out working as a retail sales associate when i was 16 at the local ski shop. I was just a kid, and a runt of a kid at that, but I loved it, and I was great at it (still am). Over the years there, I was consistently one of the top salesmen for the store. I moved on to assistant manager, and then I eventually moved into a corporate role working working with their E-commerce site and their social media accounts in the earlier days of social media. Because of my passion for the sport and the connections I made, I was recruited to work in Utah, and then in Auckland New Zealand. What an experience! Though, I will say going from winter in the northern hemisphere to winter in the southern hemisphere and back to winter in the northern hemisphere was pretty taxing. It really made me appreciate the Michigan summers. In 2010, it was time for a change. I started working as a manufacturers sales representative focusing on the automotive industry. I am still in this role today. I currently work for a company that represents a Fastener Manufacturer, an electrical component manufacturer, a painter, a CNC machining shop, and a compound stamping / slide forming facility.I have had some big wins and some heavy loses over the course of the last 13 years. I have landed mult-million dollar projects, and I have seen companies sell and part ways, or simply close their doors. I have dealt with supply chain issues of Covid, and I have worked with some people who have turned out to become life long friends. As a sales representative, I have to make my own way, and I have to be able to at least see a little distance into the future to protect myself and the companies that I represent. Covid and Post Covid left me wanting to learn and add new skills to my quiver, this led to take coding classes online in my spare time. From there,I enrolled with devCodeCamp, and learned Python, JavaScript, React.js, Django, and MySQL, as well as design principals and best practices. I can tell you that I love this. It is challenging and fun to see my ideas come to life in new way. As of right now, I am currently building my own application in the evenings after work with Django REST framework and Javascript/React.js. I am not going disclose the project details just yet, but I am excited.
Listed skills include Automotive, Sales, Injection Molding, Manufacturing, and 11 others.
