Responsible for institution’s financial activities and $25 million budget, thereby maintaining sustainability. Oversaw accounting, risk management, grants administration, financial reporting, treasury, internal controls, audit, tax compliance and budget. Introduced new financial reporting and budgeting systems to create transparency, strengthen analytics and boost efficiency. Co-led effort to secure $30 million debt facility to finance construction for new exhibits and maximize flexibility. Reengineered merchant credit card processing infrastructure to cut fees by 50% and modernize customer-facing transactions.

Guided strategic execution of clients’ finance and accounting operations, promoting real-time analytics, augmented decision support tools and best practices. Advised clients on profit enhancement, forecasting and cash flow optimization strategies. Managed implementations and integrations of web-based accounting ERP, CRM and professional services automation systems including Intacct, NetSuite, OpenAir, SalesForce.

Directed the company's finance, accounting and HR operations as it transitioned from a $5M navigational software developer to a $100M GPS device manufacturer, climbing to #4 position in the US market. Orchestrated the development and execution of the company’s financial infrastructure, including accounting framework, ERP configuration, treasury management, financial and sales reporting, budget and forecast process, decision support tools, operating metrics and monthly close. In light of a difficult economic environment and aggressive pricing by competitors, assisted in the design and implementation of a major restructuring initiative, and ultimately an orderly liquidation plan to wind down the business and exit the U.S. market.

Led the company’s external/SEC financial reporting and technical accounting functions, with oversight over all 10-K and 10-Q filings. Evaluated accounting implications of M&A transactions; assisted with due diligence; coordinated M&A valuations and purchase accounting with finance, legal, tax, operating divisions. Participated in quarterly business reviews of operating segments with corporate CFO and Controller.

Prepared 10-Q and 10-K filings; wrote MD&A and footnotes. Served as company's central liaison across all divisions in the analysis and resolution of complex accounting issues. Performed technical research and drafted accounting policies and position papers in response to new pronouncements and business events. Leveraged systems experience to generate ad-hoc reports for senior management and review financial results of operating segments.

Managed financial audits of midsize manufacturing, logistics, marketing and nonprofit clients. Performed fraud and control risk assessments, and devised audit procedures accordingly. Presented audit findings and internal control observations to client executives.

Performed audit and tax services for multi-million dollar hedge funds and nonprofit organizations, including universities, social services and foundations. Directed A-133 compliance audits of government-funded educational and welfare institutions. Evaluated clients' internal control systems and made recommendations to achieve optimal efficiencies.

Performed IT development, analysis and testing for a variety of clients. Led development efforts to integrate a web content management system with legacy applications at a Fortune 25 insurance firm. Created an Access database for reporting and tracking of customer service requests at a Big Three auto manufacturer.
