Since 2014, I have co-hosted "Ray Tucker's Arkansas Outdoors" on 103.7-FM The BUZZ. It is a live outdoors themed program airing Wednesday's from 7-8 p.m. We feature local and national guests and cover all outdoors topics, from hunting and fishing to hot air ballooning, hang-gliding, camping and mountain biking.

I produce the Outdoors section for the only statewide daily newspaper in Arkansas. My standard output is two columns and at least two features, plus photographs, per week, published on Thursdays and Sundays. Since 1987, I have published more thany 1,000 articles and photographs in more than 70 publications, including Outdoor Life and Sports Afield. I have written one book, "Arkansas, A Guide to Backcountry Travel & Adventure (Out There Press, 1999), and co-authored several others in the hunting and fishing genre. My photos have appeared on company Web sites, in fishing tackle catalogs, in U.S. Forest Service presentations and on product hang tags for Falcon Graphite Rods.

As managing editor of the Missouri Conservationist, I supervised production of a monthly, four-color magazine with a circulation of more than 500,000. My duties included bidding out printing and paper contracts valued annually at more than $1 million, writing bid specifications for those contracts, processing accounts payable, cultivating business relationships with paper and printing representatives. I also supervised one full-time and three part-time employees. Also, I supervised production of brochures for all of the Departmentʼs Conservation Areas, Wildlife Areas, Natural Areas and State Forests.Special Projects:* I rewrote the contract bid specifications for printing the Missouri Conservationist magazine to grow the pool of bidders. The resulting contract saved the Missouri Dept. of Conservation $1.4 million over the four-year duration of the contract. * Formed and led a team that implemented a self-conceived system to update the mailing list for Missouri Conservationist magazine. The new system streamlined procedures and ensured compliance with U.S. Postal Service regulations while reducing waste at no extra cost to the MDC.

As the news manager for the ODWC, I wrote and distributed a weekly news package to statewide and national print and broadcast media. I also helped journalists develop stories according to the Departmentʼs needs and goals. As associate editor of Outdoor Oklahoma magazine, I edited copy, supervised layout, design and production, helped staffers develop articles, tracked deadlines and worked with freelance contributors. Other duties:• Wrote scripts for the weekly Outdoor Oklahoma television program. I also appeared on-camera in several episodes. • Worked closely with the Director in tracking wildlife-related legislation in the Legislature. • Addressed civic groups and schools about the ODWCʼs mission, goals and operations. • Developed and implemented a system to distribute the ODWCʼs weekly newsletter via e-mail to anyone on request. This system is now a national standard.• Scripted and co-produced a commemorative video on Hackberry Flat Wildlife Management Area for the WMA dedication. • For the Hackberry Flat WMA dedication, I wrote speeches for the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission.
