Southeast Claim Service Area

Over the final 3 years of my career with Allstate, I had the responsibility for the casualty insurance claims in the specialty coverage's of uninsured motorist, underinsured motorist, comprehensive personal liability and commercial insurance claims, across the sates of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama. I also developed training material for employee specialty claim handling in these states. We were successful in reducing severity and expenses in uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage in those years. We also successfully transitioned the consolidation of commercial claims to our Texas region.

Columbia, South Carolina

Successfully consolidated multiple offices to a single location, upon arrival in 2002. While directing the operation with 95-105 employees and 9 unit managers, the team has reduced expenses while improving loss costs for 5 straight years. The office received the annual award for the best customer service in 2000, over a four state region. With an operating budget of $7,000,000, the Columbia office managed expenditures over $100,000,000, with $37,000,000 in reserves, annually. We achieved zero exceptions in internal controls and Sarbenes/Oxley compliance reviews.While in Columbia, I participated in various political action teams to support the legislative agenda of the insurance industry. I testified before the House sub-committee for passage of H4797 regarding limitations of Municipals Fees. Also worked to defeat or amend unfavorable legislation in multiple bills, S132, H3008, H5100.Won Allstate's Distinguished Leadership Award in 5 of the 8 years managing the Palmetto MCO.

Ft Myers Florida

Directed insurance claims handling of 51-58 claim employees for personal property and casualty policy holders in a five county area. Recognized by Allstate with the Distinguished leadership award 1999 and 2000.

Sarasota, Florida

Opened the Sarasota claim office in the winter of 1988. Supervising and directing the activity of 53-63 claim employees, we reduced average incurred severity in the casualty coverage's in three of the four years in Sarasota. Customer Satisfaction Surveys rated service from the Sarasota office as one of the best in the country in 1993 and 1994. Achieved recognition for work in landmark PIP legislation and also the establishment of the Florida CAT Fund. Awarded Allstate's Chairman's Quality Award for work with Allstate's Florida Political Action Team in 1994.

Ft Myers Florida

Established market training guidelines and materials for handling casualty claims. Responsible for casualty insurance claims across a nine county area for bodily injury, medical, uninsured motorist, underinsured motorist and comprehensive personal liability.
