During my time at UPMC Enterprises, I've managed numerous engineering teams across multiple departments. Initially, my focus was on the organization's multi-tenanted healthcare data platform that ingested hundreds of thousands of medical documents a day, performing natural language processing (NLP) on their content, and serving the data up to clients for further analysis. Following the pandemic declaration of COVID-19, I transitioned to MyUPMC, the organization's patient portal platform. Since then, the work of my teams has included the expansion of online scheduling and telemedicine, e-checkin, the hardening and improvement of the platform, and improving the developer experience for backend services, web, and mobile applications.

As the senior technical leader, I was responsible for software development and third-party integrations, where I worked closely with the leadership team to set the technical direction for the organization. In addition to replacing 20 years of technical debt by implementing a modern technology stack and a scalable cloud-based architecture, I also supported the creation of a digital strategy and governance group that provided leadership, governance, and accountability on digital projects and initiatives and ensured that the organization’s technology architecture could support its strategic and operational goals.

In addition to digital and print marketing services, Source Marketing was also a full-service custom software development shop. I led the development of a customer rewards platform for a Fortune 100 telecommunications company, as well as the development of a fundraising platform that allowed customers to create campaigns by purchasing coupon books for regional and national brands. I also directed the effort to lift and shift our infrastructure from a local data center to a cloud provider, saving more than 50% of our annual costs.

At Lucas, I led several project teams in implementing custom voice-directed warehouse solutions. Whether the client’s business was focused on groceries, medical supplies, or textbooks, I ensured understanding of their existing processes and systems and designed efficient and effective voice-driven workflows, as well as built out integrations into their existing warehouse management systems. This often included providing on-site training and on-call support during and after implementations.

During my time at UHG, I collaborated on clinical intake and care coordination applications. While my primary duties included software development, I also worked closely with product analysts to gather and define requirements for all releases. In addition, I led the efforts to set up pre-production environments for development and testing purposes, built and packaged the applications for each release, and coordinated the efforts to deploy those applications to more than 100 Citrix servers and 4,000 desktops.

Following the completion of my contract at Lansdale, I joined Sunrise in a full-time capacity. In addition to being the primary developer for the newly implemented CRM system, I also supported and developed multiple web and reporting applications. During the final year of my tenure, I was a full-time remote employee.

While on a 9-month contract with Lansdale, I worked on-site for a client, Sunrise Senior Living. During that time, I collaborated with both the Lansdale and Sunrise teams to gather requirements and develop a consolidated customer relationship management (CRM) application to be used by their senior living communities' sales teams. In addition, I implemented a data migration process that allowed Sunrise to migrate data from multiple legacy CRM instances that were used by their communities.
