As Global Market Manager of Wind Energy at Dow Corning I am looking at how new innovations can help improve operational reliability of wind turbines. In particular I look at how silicone and fluoro based technologies can improve some of the major reliability issues in the wind energy market that negatively impact the levelized cost of energy.• Building.

Over a period of 3 years I held a variety roles in the Engineered Elastomers Business Unit linked to the Silicone Rubber Product Line. Primarily I was responsible at a European and N.American area level for developing a market strategy driven organisation. This composed of:• Clear definition of market based segmentation• Defining and assigning strategic.

In this role I worked on a special assignment for 18 months to look at the potentially alignment of the Multibase Product lines into the Dow Corning Business Units. This involved an extensive review of each Dow Corning Business Units strategic priority. I also developed a "tool kit" to help explain the key features and benefits of the Thermoplastic Product.

I worked as an application development and technical service expert for the commercialisation of the TPSiV(TM) product line serving Multibase Automotive customers within Europe and predominately in France.In late 2003 I also took over the global development role for the development of TPO and TPE elastomer compounds used in automotive airbag covers.

I worked at ICI Melinex as part of my PhD thesis and spent several weeks per year there. As part of this I was working on synthesising new cyclic polyethylene terephthalate intermediates that were for coating formulations to be polymerised in-situ for laminate coatings.

I spent 6 months on industrial placement working to develop new solvent resistant water based polyurethane dispersion coatings.
