Here at Always Climbing, we are committed to working with the youth to develop the necessary skills that best prepare them for college and careers.

• Completed over 600 hours of both direct and indirect hours of school counselor related work.• Worked under direct supervision of a school counselor for 70+ hours. • Worked with staff to conduct classroom guidance lessons throughout the year on topics such as suicide prevention, study skills, bullying, and test taking. • Provided support for students, parents, administrators, and staff regarding any concerns that occurred involving mental health, academic achievement, behavioral problems, financial concerns, career development, and crisis intervention. • Properly made referrals to supports outside of the school to best help the students and families in need, while keeping them on full monitor and supervision. • Interpreted data and Test Results accurately.• Conducted and co-facilitated group sessions ranging from anger management and substance abuse.Key Personal Achievements:• Developed 3 bullying classroom guidance lessons to be implemented in the future years. • Learned the value of consultation and collaboration. Appropriately consulted with staff members and collaborated when necessary.• Helped create a program for the Toledo community “Pass The Drip” to help students and families in need of new clothes for school.

Through an externship provided by the University of Toledo, I mentored students at St. Pius X elementary. I also assisted teachers and supervisors with minor tasks such as grading papers, tutoring, and participating in fun activities with the kids. This allowed me to work with kids in both one on one settings and in larger groups.

Working on the Grounds crew at the University of Toledo was a very unique and fun experience. I had the chance to keep my University beautiful by Cutting Grass, Edging sidewalks, planting flowers, picking up litter, shoveling snow, and many other seasonal tasks around campus. This job allowed me to stay involved on campus and work across many different fields.

In High School I had the pleasure of visiting Litchfield Middle School (grades 6-8) and Case Elementary (grades K-5) to mentor students. I met with students weekly and helped them with bullying prevention, homework, depression, keeping their grades up, test taking tips, and how to prepare for High School. This was a great hands on experience and was my first experience in the guidance counseling field. Through this opportunity, I learned many valuable skills that will help me with my career.
