Currently leading a project providing support to those bereaved through suicide of a family member aged 26 and above within the Gwent region.

Providing dramatherapeutic interventions to children and families within the care system (fostering and adoption). This includes: 1-2-1, family and group work.Alongside this I have completed therapeutic and court reports as and when required.

Therapist for Barnardo's Cymru Wellbeing Service

• Managing Stage One enquiries including completing initial assessment visits to both fostering and adoption applicants,• Linking and matching for suitable foster placements including liaising with the local authority and supervising social workers,• Triaging incoming calls and responding instinctively to reassure foster carers and adopters,• Managing the recruitment opportunities for Wales including a substantial budget. This involves working pan Wales and linking with other agencies across the United Kingdom,• Planning and running support groups and training for foster carers and adopters, including preparation to adopt.

Working for a number of projects for Barnardo’s based predominantly in Cardiff and Newport with additional work in Taunton. All of the below included attendance at multi-disciplinary meetings and leaving care reviews.• Newport Young Families – The service worked with young parents and their children supporting them to establish a secure base by providing advice and 1-2-1 interventions around housing, parenting and debt management advice.• Free to Bee – Family and 1-2-1 therapeutic based support for asylum seeking/refugee families placed in Cardiff. I gained the skill of working alongside an interpreter as well as delivering training for both ‘language and play’ and ‘the parent nurturing programme.’ • Bereavement Service – Supporting children and families based in Cardiff who had been affected by bereavement. Predominantly worked with males and boys supporting the processing of their grief using sport and group engagement. The role also included working alongside therapists and a clinical psychologist to plan and run groups for those referred.• Barnardo’s Works – Setting up and running a service for young people not in education, employment or training (NEET). This was a collaboration with SWALEC and Kentucky Fried Chicken. The role included job coaching, budgeting, housing advice and supporting vulnerable young people into sustainable employment.• BounceBack – Providing emotional and well being support to young people placed in three Secondary Schools in Cardiff. Roles also included organising events and trips and supporting those referred to engage in group activities to enhance their self-esteem and social schemes.
