About Brendan Smith
I am a PhD candidate in acoustical oceanography at Dalhousie University. I am also an acoustical engineer and audio engineer.I have a strong interest in natural soundscapes, acoustical oceanography, signal processing, recording studio design, and sound design. While working as an acoustic consultant at Arup, I consulted on a broad range of projects, including environmental noise studies, recording studios, radio stations, performance venues, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities, as well as composing original audio content for spatial audio installations. At Brady Street Recordings, I produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered music for 100+ artists from 2006 through 2024, when I moved the studio operation to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
