I love to create new things and bring ideas into reality. As a Mechanical Engineering Product Designer, I enjoy integrating the science of mechanical engineering with the form and aesthetics of graphic and industrial design. I have seven years of experience doing mechanical design, product development, prototyping, and R&D.I believe good product design and engineering is best done by a dynamic cross-functional team where specialized independent work is brought together into a collaborative vision. I have over ten years of SolidWorks design experience (CSWP), and seven years in industry designing for medical, military, and consumer products and devices. Leading projects from new concept generation, through to production has given me a robust understanding of the product development life-cycle.At university I gained a strong background in project management and leadership from various design teams. I continue to utilize these skills in leading the R&D on innovative new products, and as a mentor and direct supervisor of engineering co-ops.My passion for design and innovation derives from being an avid maker, tinkerer, and skill collector.
