Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Kanata, Ontario, Canada

Dec 2015 - Feb 2020

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Apr 2011 - Sep 2015

Software Engineer

• Developed embedded software in C for SMSC's wireless audio products based on Kleer wireless audio technology (KLR3012). This included designing and implementing new features such as an I2C slave driver, and optimizing the firmware to reduce interrupt service routine execution times and memory resource usage.• Provided software support for customer field testing issues with the KLR3012. This required identifying the source of the issue in the firmware and implementing a solution in a timely manner.• Participated in the verification of the KLR3012 firmware by developing and enhancing testcases, improving the software validation model of the KLR3012 and debugging issues with it, along with assisting other team members with their verification activities when possible. C++ was used for these activities.• Provided on-site customer support for a SMSC home theater project with wireless battery operated speakers. This involved direct interaction with the customer's hardware development group to determine the new firmware requirements for the KLR3012 based on the operating characteristics of a prototype system. Also, firmware development and testing was performed by interfacing a KLR3012 hardware module to the customer's prototype system to verify functionality.
